Divine Love

Until today the one who lives in the same house with me

I ignored that True friend

In the absence of my religion and I now abide by the religion of the One.

And now my heart came to accept all forms

The meadow of gazelles,

The abbey of priests,

The temple of the crosses,

The Kaaba of the hajis,

The sacred tablets of the Torah,

My heart turned into pages of the Sacred Qur’an,

Now I am following the religion of Love!

Wherever the Love Caravans head towards,

Love is my religion and faith.

I am practicing the religion of Love

It is my religion, it is my faith, I believe in LOVE.


Love is the principle that led to Haqq’s creation of the universe. This principle is Divine Love. Every event and formation that happens in the universe is created with Divine Love.

The Divine Command is ‘divine love’. Allah who gives the Kün (Be) command enabled movement in creation with divine love and planted the seeds of love in the dough of creation. Haqq’s work is kneaded by the seeds of love, brought to life by the principle of divine love, takes shape and is lightened by divine light. Ibn ‘Arabi says, ‘Haqq’s Self is Divine Affection.’ If there were no Divine Affection everything would continue to exist in oneness and unity. Yet, because divine affection, divine love, is the principle of dynamics and movement, it would create a polarity. For this reason, the mobility of divine love, that Ibn ‘Arabi calls ‘Rahmani Self ’, which comes from the internal towards the apparent, from inside to outside, created the poles. The mobility of divine affection, divine love, led to One becoming polar, becoming variable and dividing into plurality. It appeared as a divine light that blew from oneness to plurality as a Rahmani self.

The whole learned Ibn Arabi society has practically convinced itself that translating Arabi's Doctrine is impossible. Yet, the author of this volume has no such fear. Of course, the text will never be aneasy reading, either in the original or in the English translation, and there will always enough people criticizing this or that choice of words. Of course,half way through there may be a need to go back and change something in thee arlier volumes, and the electronic format makes it easier. But please don'tlet it stop you, Mrs Kevser, the critics will go away, and your book will remain. Much of the current dialog from and about Islam assumes a very rigid and narrow perspective on the role…
